Staff Appreciation!

Although there is never no place like home, Medilodge of Portage has been a good facility to stay at during my recovery. The food was good. Therapy did a wonderful job pushing me to do my best but not forcing to do more than I was able. You come to a facility to do your rehab and even though you would rather be at home if you put in the effort it can become a good time. It’s what you make out of it.

I really enjoyed my stay here at Medilodge of Portage. Therapy did a wonderful job at my recovery. The staff was helpful with all my needs when I required them. Bayan, Jameshae, Marcie, and Sandra stood out to me the most, but overall, your staff are fabulous.

It was comforting being at a place that was familiar to me. My wife was at MediLodge of Portage about 10 years ago and some of the same staff were still here. Through the years I have brought candy to MediLodge of Portage and the surrounding community. They call me the “Candy Man” but I just want to give to people who are in need of a friend or may be feeling lonely. It’s just nice to know that people here are so caring. I do appreciate everyone at MediLodge of Portage and want to thank you all for your help with me now and my wife then.

I have been treated very well during my stay at MediLodge of Portage. Fredericka was the one who made my stay here memorable. She always brightened up my day with her bubbly personality. Tina was also a great addition and was very patient and caring with me. Therapy was extensive and pushed me as much as I pushed myself. Overall everyone has been terrific! I’d recommend MediLodge of Portage to anyone who has to go to a facility.

We cannot begin to thank you for the wonderful care Jeanette received during her stay with you. While she wanted to be in her own home, you made it possible for her to enjoy her time there. Your compassion, concern, and support was so wonderful. There are many of you we would individually like to thank, but for fear of missing someone, we hope you will take it upon yourselves to know who helped her the most. But we know each and every one of you makes a contribution for everyone’s well-being. Thank you again for your wonderful and generous care of Jeanette.

I came to the facility with a foot injury and required a lot of attention for balance and walking. Thanks to Ashly and Stacy’s encouragement, I leave here today confident that I will succeed at home. They are very gracious yet firm. If you have never had a need for a rehab stay at a facility, remember it’s what you make out of it. I really appreciate the Therapy team at Medilodge of Portage for their hard work helping to get me back out into the community in a timely manner.

I‘m originally from San Antonia, Texas and moved to Portage, MI to have colon cancer surgery in 2016. From there I was sent too many different hospitals until I ended up at MediLodge of Portage for my rehab. I’ve enjoyed the staff here who have taken care of me since May 2018. I particularly would like to thank Kelly, Theresa, Kara, Pam, Tammy, and Derrick for the care they have given to me in these past 4 months. Without them I wouldn’t have made it as far as I have.

I arrived here at MediLodge of Portage on January 19^th for some rehab before I transition back to home. Right away, I received a warm welcome. All the staff treated me very well during my stay here. I had good meals and wonderful Therapy. Enjoyed activities and met some great people like my roommate. In some small way, I hope I made a difference here as they did for me. I know I will miss everyone and be missed by them all as well but it’s time to go home. Hopefully, if I need to come back, it will just be for a visit.

I came here in September for some rehab, not knowing what the outcome will be after my stroke. With the help of the Therapy team and staff, I have come a long way in my recovery. I would really like to thank Beth in OT for the extra work that she put in focusing on my bad hand. Also big thank you to Karen and Dontaja for going the extra mile bringing me my coffee before I even had to ask. Keep up with the great work MediLodge staff.

Overcoming a stroke is not an easy task; however, MediLodge of Portage met the challenge and exceeded my expectations. The first thing I took away from MediLodge is perfectly said on their welcome bags: Recover, Rejuvenate, Revitalize, and Return home. Secondly, they had a saying there “teamwork makes the dream work.” Thirdly is I can do anything through Christ, which strengthens me. All three of these got me through what I considered a challenging and difficult time in my life. Even the residents would tell me, “Calvin, you are a victor, not a victim,” and I was able to overcome, grow, and return home with all of this. Thank you, MediLodge! Thank you, staff! And thank you, Therapy team, for always challenging me.
