Last Day of Nursing Home Week

Everyone at MediLodge of Portage has treated me great. All the staff has been nice. I have never had any negative words to say about anyone. Therapy and Speech did an excellent job in my recovery. I, at first, hated seeing them come in but appreciated there dedication to get me back to where I needed to be to go home again. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

I was extremely apprehensive at first about my stay at Medilodge of Portage as a resident. I feel like I have made some nice friends and the care has been perfect. The staff has been wonderful and I applaud the OT and PT department---they were really on their toes in my recovery. Nothing better to perk up a resident in the morning than a smiling face to help you get ready for the day. That plus a cup of coffee!

I first came to Medilodge of Portage at the beginning of October 2018. I couldn’t walk, couldn’t talk, and couldn’t eat on my own. I knew it was a long road to get back to being and feeling normal again. Five months later, I have reached my New Year’s Resolution with the help of the Medilodge Therapy team and staff. Today I’m going home, and not to just visit, but to experience my life in full once again. I want to thank everyone for their help and support. I’ll be back to visit as a VISITOR only.

I had the pleasure of staying here at Medilodge of Portage for rehab. I was a little afraid at first, but things got easier thanks to your Therapy team. Thank you all for your care, and I hope not, but if I had to, I would love to come back to your facility.

I have had a very nice time here at MediLodge of Portage during my rehab stay. The nursing staff are great. The food was the best of any other rehab facility I have seen. My first husband was in many from Florida to Michigan and all of their food was bland and the food here had good flavor. If I ever have to go to a rehab facility again I will choose here.

  I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at Medilodge of Portage for making my recovery and rehabilitation possible.

 I arrived at the facility by way of an ambulance and confined to a stretcher back on March the 19th 2020. At the time my pain level was off the chart and my mood and disposition were quite unfavorable.   I sincerely apologize to the nursing staff and CNA's then who had to deal with me in those early days of my stay.

 Since that time my physical condition has been substantially and visibly improved and I have been cleared for discharge on May 21, 2020.

 Over the past 2 months, I have not only made some dear friends but many of you have become like family members since I don't have any immediate family in the area. This unforeseen reality has gone a long way in helping with my recovery.

 Your unrelenting patience in the administering of medications, meal preparation and delivery, custodial, laundry services, administrative services, and hot coffee is unsurpassed in the healthcare industry.

 During this Coronavirus epidemic, all of you have demonstrated not only are you essential but quite invaluable. I truly hope that corporate levels realize that all of you have earned your pay, and still deserve a considerable increase in pay and benefits for your levels of professionalism.

I have been treated very well during my stay at MediLodge of Portage. Fredericka was the one who made my stay here memorable. She always brightened up my day with her bubbly personality. Tina was also a great addition and was very patient and caring with me. Therapy was extensive and pushed me as much as I pushed myself. Overall everyone has been terrific! I’d recommend MediLodge of Portage to anyone who has to go to a facility.

MediLodge was a good facility to stay at during my knee recovery. Scott, the aide, always made sure I was okay. He was very attentive and companionate to my needs. I appreciated that. Therapy did a wonderful job, as well. They were good at listening to the things I couldn’t do and made adjustments when needed. I also want to thank Kelly. She was very helpful when I just needed something. I’d recommend MediLodge of Portage to anyone who may need to come for a rehab stay.

Since I can’t have Paul with me at home, there’s no other place I’d rather have him live.
