Fall Prevention Awareness Event

Circumstances have led me to come to MediLodge of Portage for rehab. Even though I felt like I didn’t need to come to a rehab facility, I found my stay to be helpful. I was able to gain strength back and now I’m able to return home with my family. Thank you MediLodge Staff, you were all great!

Overcoming a stroke is not an easy task; however, MediLodge of Portage met the challenge and exceeded my expectations. The first thing I took away from MediLodge is perfectly said on their welcome bags: Recover, Rejuvenate, Revitalize, and Return home. Secondly, they had a saying there “teamwork makes the dream work.” Thirdly is I can do anything through Christ, which strengthens me. All three of these got me through what I considered a challenging and difficult time in my life. Even the residents would tell me, “Calvin, you are a victor, not a victim,” and I was able to overcome, grow, and return home with all of this. Thank you, MediLodge! Thank you, staff! And thank you, Therapy team, for always challenging me.

Although there is never no place like home, Medilodge of Portage has been a good facility to stay at during my recovery. The food was good. Therapy did a wonderful job pushing me to do my best but not forcing to do more than I was able. You come to a facility to do your rehab and even though you would rather be at home if you put in the effort it can become a good time. It’s what you make out of it.

All in all, we just want you all to know how grateful we are for all the special pampering that you gave Mom during her stay with you. All of you who work at Medilodge of Portage are truly special, and we will never understand how you do it all so efficiently!

Since I can’t have Paul with me at home, there’s no other place I’d rather have him live.

My wife, Donna Casper was a resident at TenderCare of Portage for 13 years, I watched things closely after Medilodge took over, and it did not take long to get a good feelings about Medilodge of Portage. It’s very hard to pick a specific member or department that stood out for all the employees are great, Nurses, CNA’s, office, dining Room and maintenance staff and rehab department. When the Time Comes, I plan on coming here as a resident, as I am 83 years old.

I came here in September for some rehab, not knowing what the outcome will be after my stroke. With the help of the Therapy team and staff, I have come a long way in my recovery. I would really like to thank Beth in OT for the extra work that she put in focusing on my bad hand. Also big thank you to Karen and Dontaja for going the extra mile bringing me my coffee before I even had to ask. Keep up with the great work MediLodge staff.

Thanks so much for all of the care you provided to my mom during her recent stay at your facility. I really appreciate your professionalism during the difficult moments. You can be proud of the work you do and I would definitely recommend you to anyone requiring a skilled facility.
